Family Weekends

Family weekends allow entire families the opportunity to vacation together. Camp Northstar provides an enjoyable, safe atmosphere for families to spend time. They will be given the chance to bond as a family as well as network with other families. The weekend is filled with sports, games and family activities at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island.

Respite Weekends

These weekends are designed for families with a family member with a developmental disability living at home. They provide a much needed break for families and allow the family member to enjoy a positive fun camp like vacation. Camp Northstar volunteers work closely with respite staff to ensure a wonderful, fun-filled memorable experience for all. Currently the respite weekend is cancelled.
Programs

Camper Weekend

This weekend is designed for individuals that may not be ready for a full week of camp.  If you are not sure your child is ready then this is the weekend for you.  Campers will follow a typical camp schedule enjoying a variety of fun camp activities.  They will live in cabins with other campers and be supervised by our experiences volunteer counselors.  No parents allowed.  Space for this weekend is very limited so if you are interested please complete a camper application and return it to Camp ASAP.

Camp Week

Provides campers with the opportunity to experience a week long sleep away camp. Camp Northstar is camper centered emphasizing fun, the joy of sports and friendships. In the nurturing Camp environment, with the help of our counselors; campers become more confident, independent individuals. The Camp Week offers it’s campers an exciting, diverse individualized program. The date for this year’s Camp is still to be determined. If you are interested in camp please submit an application.
